ABOUT
WFFI
OUR MISSION & HISTORY
Founded in Boise, Idaho in 1996, Women Fly Fishers of Idaho (WFFI) is a club for women anglers of all levels – and those who would like to learn. WFFI is a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for women anglers of all skill levels to learn and increase their knowledge, experience, and pleasure in the sport of fly fishing. This is achieved through mutual participation in activities including casting, fly and knot tying, fly and equipment selection, entomology, reading the water, safety, fishing etiquette, and conservation.
We offer organized outings, clinics, seminars, and regular meetings. Members have access to our monthly newsletter and member list to foster connections and friendship. We have a lot of fun as we welcome and support Idaho women who love (or who want to learn to love) fly fishing! Membership is just $30 per year.

Favorite place to fish: Owyhee River and Duck Valley
Favorite fishing tip: There’s no wrong way to fish a streamer. Cast it straight across river, cast it up river, cast it down river. Let it swing, strip it back, dead drift it, or jig it.
Favorite place to fish: Hagerman area
Favorite fishing tip: After you run your line through your guides, give the line a little tug to put a bend in your rod. Look up your rod at all your guides. This is an easy way to see if you missed getting your line through any of your guides.
Favorite place to fish: South Fork Boise; a close 2nd is the Madison River in MT.
Favorite fishing tip: Be patient and keep fishing!
